Day 86 of 365 Days of Mindfulness

The Holocaust survivor & author Elie Wiesel shared the following in regards to indifference:
“The opposite of Love is not hate, it’s indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it’s indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it’s indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it’s indifference.”
Recently, I tested many of you, my soul family, to see who was truly Listening, who was truly aware, awake and open to Love. When I was informed of the tragedy occurring with many of our sea creatures I knew I had to do something immediatley. I received information on how many thousands of baby penguins (chicks) had died from a lack of food in their Homeland. The moment I heard this tragic news, I knew something had to be done – and quickly, as their very lives and survival as a species depends on our care and help.
I am an optimist by nature. I have been through some shit in this life, let me tell you. However, I just can’t stop focusing on solution and progress. I swear, it’s a gift running powerfully through my blood. That being said, I am saddened by how many humans seem to care less about anything outside of their own small world.
I shared the information on these penguins in need, I wrote to my congressman/woman, and I committed to giving a monthly donation to help with solution. I spent a couple hours sharing this Information, and even made it super easy to donate by adding a donation button on my Facebook page.
I am grateful for the one person I saw who actually made a donation, and I am also grateful for the few who shared my post. What saddens me is how little effort was given by so many people I felt would care as deeply as I do. I mean, we’re talking about the possibility of an extinct species! I mean come on, that’s pretty freaking important! Or is it?
So now on to our topic: “Indifference,” a powerful energy that is keeping many humans stuck and struggling. Indifference is why so many hateful crimes are committed in the public eye and the victimizers seem to get away with their crimes. I say “seem” because I know that there is a much bigger Divine picture playing out, and we always reap what we sow. No one truly gets away with anything.
The crime and tragedy of indifference happens every day, in every city and small town throughout the planet. I feel Indifference is a way we avoid responsibility, a way we convientely turn a blind eye to situations, pretending they are not happening, pretending they are not causing suffering for another. It’s as if we convince ourselves that as long as it’s not happening to us, well, “It’s not my problem.” This is indifference.
The slaughtering of seventeen million Jews, Polish, and many more would not have been possible without Indifference. Many blame one man for that terrible tragedy, yet I disagree. It took hundreds of thousands of humans to pull off hate like that, conveniently through their Indifference. History is pouring with stories of Indifference: The Native Americans being slaughtered and overtaken, the Christian Crusaders killing off over 1.7 million to push their religion on others. Ohh boy, Jesus would be so proud!
What created such darkness? Indifference. Every Time!
In my humble opinion, if you are Present for an event, it’s automatically connected to your essence. You are a part of that moment of creation. Therefore, if we dare to rise higher than perhaps we’ve had the courage to rise before, we can BE a part of the solution, the healing, the Love of that moment. We always have the sacred choice of free will, we always have the power to create positive change, and don’t you let anyone convince you otherwise.
I have witnessed it myself personally in the workplace, and in family situations where others were treating another (or myself) disrespectfully and no one else said or did anything. Everyone just turned a blind eye, pretending they didn’t just witness this moment. This is the cowardly choice, and these cowardly choices have their own consequences that will manifest.
I personally have walked away from misaligned, uncaring humans that called themselves “family,” that were my coworkers and called themselves “friends”. It’s not a fun choice to walk away, especially when not another soul that was present even acknowledged what occurred or showed care. It can take some practice in Not taking this lack of care personally. Leaving these abusive situations is always wise, and remember that You deserve Love & Honor. We All Do.
How do any of us feel this is Healthy? How can any of us who live this way sleep peacefully at night? How can we possibly believe this choice of indifference will ever solve Anything? It won’t!
I have learned that in order for my life to prosper and thrive, I must BE Present every moment of every day. I have discovered the power in taking back my power and speaking up when others won’t. I have walked often seemingly alone (my Angels are always with me) because I cannot be indifferent!
When I observe the state of our world, it is tragic: So many humans completely self absorbed in their own small ego-dramas. So many humans oblivious to their own true power, purpose or potential. So many humans turning a blind eye again and again. So much hate, abuse and greed. So much misalignment and indifference seems to rule the planet.
There is so much we Can do, so much we can heal, so much we can prevent if we can only release the shadow frequency of indifference. Like I said, I’m an optimist by nature, so even though I have observed so much indifference in the past, I have faith in humanity. You’ve truly got what it takes to create a much more Loving, Connected, Conscious, Creative, Honoring world, and it all begins with being fully present with this Sacred Moment, right Here, right Now. What do you choose?
